Get your dream smile with porcelain veneers

Looking to finally make your dream smile a reality? Available from your Essex dentist, veneers are thin, custom-made, tooth-coloured shells that can transform your front ‘smiling’ teeth

Porcelain veneers are eggshell-thin layers of tooth-coloured material, which are bonded to the front surface of teeth with tooth-coloured cement, improving their overall appearance.

It is often said that veneers are like false fingernails for your teeth. We’d like to add that they’re much more durable and long-lasting! Veneers are the treatment of choice for Hollywood film stars to make their smiles camera-ready, especially as they’re a quick and painless process in which you can design your own smile. Luckily for us, veneers have gone mainstream so you can transform your smile with veneers at Lister House Dental Centre!

Veneers can cover all manner of imperfections, including stains, chips and cracks and filling in small gaps between teeth. Porcelain veneers are an ideal solution to cosmetically improve a smile while still maintaining healthy tooth structure.

Dental veneers can:

  • Improve colour of teeth
  • Close spaces between teeth
  • Enhance shape of teeth
  • Amend the length or size of teeth
  • Realign crooked teeth
  • Maintain your natural tooth structure

How long do veneers last?

The expected lifetime of a porcelain veneer is somewhere between 7 – 20 years. Veneers sometimes come off or chip but, if this happens, they can be repaired or replaced. Also, over time, the living tooth and surrounding gum tissue will undergo changes that may require alterations to your veneers.

Can you match the veneer to my natural tooth colour?

Yes, this is done by a special colour-match procedure so that the colour matches exactly and the veneer looks like it’s always been part of your mouth.

What if I want to whiten my teeth?

If you want whiter teeth, we recommend whitening them first, then having the veneer made to match the new shade.

Can I still get cavities with veneers?

Yes! Remember, veneers are just a ‘front’ for your natural teeth, so you still have to maintain excellent oral hygiene to keep your teeth from decay.

"Choosing veneers meant I could design my new smile. I am so pleased with the results and finally have the dream smile I have always wanted."
